Hey everyone,

So recently my rock anemone spawned and I have 3 others, with a total of 4 of them and I was just wondering if anyone has any insight on how long the gestation period typically is, assuming at least one of the others is female and if everything goes well. When should I expect little ones to start popping up under them?

I didn’t see any eggs or babies, but I caught one spawning a while back.

What date did it spawn on? I have heard that it is usually on the equinox but other threads have said it is random
There was a scientific paper that suggested that rfa's spawned on the equinox which means when daylight equals night time and occurs twice a year in March and Sept. That's in nature. Given that most of us keep our tanks on the same light schedule all year they could not know when the equinox is. Mine have spawned three times in the last 6 months so I'm pretty sure it's a random thing.

UPDATE!
So I just noticed a little RFA looking tentacle between two of my big ones today. Same orange color with the grayish bottom side, and it even has the little bumps on the tentacles. There are 2 little arms but one of them is hard to see atm. Any thoughts? Here are a couple pictures.

Very nice! I've had RFAs for multiple years now and no such luck. It would help a lot of us out (at least me) if you could list any particular things you are doing that might helped them to spawn. What's you light cycle like (including a lunar cycle if any), what lights do you have, do you feed them, if so how often, tank parameters, Tank flow and filter setup, etc. I've always wondered how broadcast spawning species can reproduce in our aquariums with all the flow we have and the high potential of geting trapped in a filter sock... Thanks!

Mine spawned last night, full moon. 2 males and 3 females. Males released clouds and the females grew tall and thick like tubes and were very soft, waving a little in the current. All back to normal this morning.
