I believe the rock beauty is considered an expert-care species...and no angel (except those in the genicanthus genus) are entirely trustworthy around corals.

Explain what's wrong...it may be best to word it that they need specialized care you can't provide...and take (her?) with you to the LFS so she can "pick something else out for you" (with a little guidance.) That should help smooth over any hurt feelings.

Do it. Juvenile... you should be able to get it to eat frozen or something.

tried 2 return it 2 day they said they wouldn't take it back 1st they said all sale's finale then they tried to say there was fungus on the tail. the fish is clean been in qt since I received it and not a mark on her! told them that they should be ashamed saleing this fish since it was so hard to keep alive and 2nd for telling her that it was safe for a reef tank when they knew it wasn't. and that for a quick 35 they lost hundreds in sales the guy knew me and I have bought lots from them the average I spend when I go in there is 120.00 about every other week when I go in there. so I spoke to the owner who knows me from the store and he tried to pull the a sales final bull as well then offered me to give me whole sale credit for the fish I said NO!! and left so after about 5 years of going to this lfs I wont go back. sad part they have a few special order corals coming for me show colonies at that! good luck with them saleing them not many reefers hear in town.at least I didn't haft to give them a deposit since i'm such a customer and shop there so much so the just lost 275 over 35.

Try and keep it in QT for as long as possible, maybe find another home through Craigslist or another site. LFS tripping over dollars to save cents, and unfortunately putting an animals life on the line, and a customer's tank..

Rock beauties are very good looking fish. However, they are a specialty item. There are 7 local reef stores and I have yet to see a rock beauty offered. They get large. They are not reef safe. They have a reputation of doing poorly in captivity. A reputable store should not even stock them because it will not turn out well. An experienced person with a large tank and a desire to keep this species might make it work. That just is not the normal customer.
