Rock curing

Question to people who ate smarter than me:

Can you take dry rock and throw it in your sump and not have any issue with parameters?

PS - I have a 120 gallon established mixed reef running with high po3

Done it many times. Most recently with a 15# rock I plan to use as a bio starter for a new tank

A few at a time no big deal . Or better to have a small aquarium on the side just for this stuff

+1 Just make sure the rock in clean prior too adding.

What kind of dry rock? If its cement it will kill everything if its not "cured". If its calcium carbonate it should be fine. Although it might temporarily po4 if its pukani rock or something.
