I cannot explain why. I have purchased 4 of these lovely critters. the first walked off when I got it never to be seen again. 4 months later, I found it when I tore the tank down. it was completely bleached. it walked a bit then found a sunny spot and stayed for a year or so. then it moved. then I broke the tank down and tore the darn thing in half removing the rock. it recovered and looks great today very close to its original spot. the 2nd was a brilliant red one. i placed it in a nice area and it moved 2 " and has not moved for 2 years. the last two, well they walked off. they are no where to be seen at all. I hope they are in my tank somewhere.... that said, I rarely target feed mine now days. the two that i can see are at least 4" across.
