You shouldn't be feeding them every day. Mix up new salt water and put it in a bowl and float it in the tank. Put him in the bowl after it warms up to tank temps, lower your lights a little and see if he recovers or perks up within an hour or 2. Make sure to use distilled or rodi water. If he appears a little better it is some parameter.Yea he's not even taking food now.
I dont have any crabs other than a hermit that I added way after the issue started, and he's just chilling in the rockwork all day. What are your parameters. I don't believe it's bacterial. You listed an on going issue over weeks that target anemones in series vs the same titime. Sounds like a crab picking at them or parameter related
You are spot feeding daily in a small tank. Your parameters are going to be all over the place. Nori breaks down so does everything your adding. You need to check your parameters.I dont have any crabs other than a hermit that I added way after the issue started, and he's just chilling in the rockwork all day.
Inhabitants in this tank are the RFAs, a couple of bubble tips, some zoas Anton bruuni shrimp, some small snails/limpets and an urchin which is feeding on coralline from the 2 yr old live rock as well as Nori.
I don't bother checking params as there's lots of live rock and there are no hard corals to eat up all.
I know the story makes it sound like it's targetting nems in series, but I was very infatuated with the highlighter yellow nem, so there's a good chance it was happening to the other nems and I just didn't notice. What are your parameters. A 12g tank will have Salinity all over the place from evaporation, nutrients coming in and none going out. You said it was an issue with a prior tank you pulled rocks from. Clearly upon setting up such a small tank you need to check your parameters as they can swing in a day. There is no guarantee the rock you pulled has enough active bacteria to filter ammonia out especially if it's covered in corraline. You need to tell us how you produce your water and your parameters. These are the things we can see and use to diagnose potential issues. Bacteria we can not see or test for outside of basic parameter testing. Either way we need to know what your parameters are.I know the story makes it sound like it's targetting nems in series, but I was very infatuated with the highlighter yellow nem, so there's a good chance it was happening to the other nems and I just didn't notice.

If you don’t test we can only speculate , I would test all major parametersI dont have any crabs other than a hermit that I added way after the issue started, and he's just chilling in the rockwork all day.

Why would a water quality issue affect the nems in series versus in parallel? Bacterial infection spreads from one to the next. Only thing in the tank besides the nems is a shrimp I’m unfamiliar with. So it could be the shrimp….but water quality seems less likely imo. What are your parameters. I don't believe it's bacterial. 0 ammonia, both PO4 and NO3
Do you know of any bacteria that targets rfa yet leave bta's alone? If so then easily enough, we found the culprit, I know of noneWhy would a water quality issue affect the nems in series versus in parallel? Bacterial infection spreads from one to the next. Just tested, plz let me know if it's the paramsIf you don’t test we can only speculate , I would test all major parameters

Need to know mg as well as the cal is a little low , would also like to know ph but I’m still thinking something bacterial maybe some heavy metals ect… can add cuprisorb wouldn’t hurtJust tested, plz let me know if it's the params
Lol I knew that would be a problem in a new tank hence me feeding nearly every day.And you mention 0 nitrate / phos could be starving the nems I like to keep 20 nitrate .1 phos
I can test mg but I can guarantee its going to be within range, if not just a little low.Need to know mg as well as the cal is a little low , would also like to know ph but I’m still thinking something bacterial maybe some heavy metals ect… can add cuprisorb wouldn’t hurt
I will drop in the cuprisorb and carbon as well just in case, but I'm having a hard time coming up with a source of metal contamination. And you mention 0 nitrate / phos could be starving the nems I like to keep 20 nitrate .1 phos
