Hey all, I am wondering about my rock flower. Not concerned, not really, but just confused... see, there is a white spot on one of the tentacles that has neither grown (not to my knowledge... if so, very very little) nor diminished in size. It does not protrude, but it encompasses the color of a “spike” of the tentacle. It is maybe a millimeter in size, and my money is on being bleached, but I really don’t know. Also, I’ve tried blowing it off, so I know it’s not sand or anything. Any help is really appreciated!
(PS-sorry about the terrible picture, don’t have any cameras and phone lens is really bad :/)

Thanks, guys!

Thanks for the reply! Yes, I know that somewhat patterned white spots are just coloration, and I have one with many white spots. However, and sorry I forgot to clear this up, this is just one white spot on one tentacle. Every other tentacle is red with a pinkish underside.

If you get anymore, try putting them in a turbo snail shell, or a barnacle. They will stay put and you can move them around to where you like.

Sorry I can't help with what's going on with it, but it looks healthy to me.

It is. I’m just wondering if it’s bleaching or if if there is any external cause. Thanks, though!

I have not seen any anemones “bleach” like a regular coral but I guess they could lose a little bit of coloration if the parameters are not correct or the lighting is off but yours does not seem to be losing color and it looks healthy!

Yeah. I actually got a RFA that was bleached that regained color at a lower level. I don’t think lighting is the problem. Thanks.
I suppose that this is resolved, given that there don’t seem to be any problems. Thanks for the input, guys.
