Rock from the beach

My brother came back from the beach in South Carolina. He brought back some rock found on the beach. It looks like rock you could get at the lfs. I thought I read somewhere about being very careful putting it in your tank. Is it safe? Is there some way to cure it? Wash it? anyhting will help.

You could let it dry completely and it should be safe....I wouldn't use it unless I'd done that first.

i boil anything i get that isnt from the lfs or another hobbyist

Heck no! I had a parasite in my tank about two months ago. So i am going to boil the heck out of these rocks don't want anything back in the tank. I can wait for them to be cured in the tank.

I would just hose them off and leave them outside for a couple weeks.
