I want to glue my rock for the scape im building for my 29HQI.
What type of glue is the best for doing this?
Stephen Tyrrell

I have never used glue alone,I always use a reef epoxy then some glue around the edge for the non small connecting parts...epoxy is really better, its like a playdoe style epoxy and works really well.

I think its just called Reef Putty, not sure on the brand.Check out Doctor Foster and Smiths site.

I hate epoxy myself...but I don't think there is a better option either :P the stuff literally smells like dog poo...

I've used the instant ocean brand with success. I would recommend it for what you're doing.

You can get the epoxy from home depot, either aquamend or water weld; both are reef safe and used pretty commonly to build aquascapes and to mount corals to rockwork.

I try to avoid expoxy as well but using when I mount frags in strange locations and positions. Glue the epoxy to teh frag plug/disk and also place glue on the expoxy. Works like a charm and I am more than certain it would do the same aquascaping live rock. Super Glue gel works well with expoxy.

Funny you ask this question as I was just changing some of my rocks today. I tried to use the aquamend with suplerglue gel, and I couldn't get it to hold the rocks together. This works great for attaching frags to rockwork, not sure why I couldn't get it to work with aquascaping.

I've used it to reinforce some rockwork, problem is it takes time to setup, so in some cases you have to brace the rock as it sets up.
