Hi. My 8yr old reef tank crashed from a 10 day power outage due to hurricane Sandy. My rockwork had corals and macros all over and i don't want to throw it out. I need some advice and/or instructions on how to clean up and remove all the dead stuff. and i only want to bleach it as a last resort. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks

If you're fine with waiting, it'll die off and come back on its own... it may take well over a month to do so though. You could vacuum off the dead stuff and the sand while doing water changes while you wait..

Well if you want to make sure everything is cleaned out of every pore, I would use bleach the rock. After the bleach bath, soak the rock in a dechlorinator like sodium thiosulfate.
