Noticed this on firefish today, he's in his cave for the night but it doesn't look sore per se but it is indented a tiny bit. Thoughts?

Behavior is normal currently

Looks like the result of a bite mark or injury. What other tank occupants are in with it? These fish do frighten easily so an injury is also possible as they tend to dive bomb into rock openings. Keep an eye on it to assure it does not progress into an infection. May not be bad to acquire either seachem Kanaplex or Maracyn 2 to have on hand should an infection develop

Thanks shark and vette. I'll keep an eye on it. Just the firefish and yellow clown goby for about 8 months so they are both peaceful. I'm always nervous of uronema or flukes, no new inhabitants besides coral so that's probably doubtful but.

WWouldn't surprise me that this fish would hurt itself, in my year of ownership its already banged up an eye, got a load of bristleworm bristles to the face, almost eaten by a RFA. Self preservation is not it's strong suit
