What do you guys think? Would you fill extra space in sump with rock for more surface area, or would you leave it bare so you can easily suck up all the detritus?
I keep about ten pounds of live rock and some marine pure block in my sump and use it whenever I need to move something to quarantine. It does get annoying to clean at times but never had any real issues. Additionally I figure its another place for pods to hang out and multiply.
This is one of those questions you will get a wide range of responses. This is what I have. I have two extra pieces of soft ball size rock. I have 3 mesh bags of rubble. These can be transferred to the display at night easily to add pods. I also swap out those large pieces to use in a pod culture bucket.
