Hey guys. Quick question.

I have set up my live rock in my tank and wanted to set up some flat spaces for future coral. In doing so I turned one of my flatter rocks on its side and made a type of ledge. I like the way it looks but there is an area below it that is not receiving much light. Is there any problem with having large areas in the shadows?

Also, nitrites are down to 0 in just 6 days. Is that ok?

I think a shadowy area is appreciated by some fish. It also doesn't appear to do any harm unless you try to put photosynthetic organisms underneath it.

I like to have some areas that are shaded. Do you plan on keeping corals?

Having shaded areas will be good for when you add corals. Some corals do better in lower light.
