I have recently just had my money to order everything I need to start my water what I didn't realize is that my live rock is coming faster than every other piece of equipment what should I do? Should I cancel the rock order and order it back when all my equipment is here because the rock will be here on the fourth and the rest of the equipment will be here by the 11th at the latest what should I do

How much rock? Get a container (or multiple containers)(I like Brutes) and put the rock in there along with a powerhead and heater and you'll be fine.

If you dont have salt water in your Brute can, the bacteria that is living on the LR will die off. If you can put a hold on the LR, thats what I would do.

Regular water meaning tap? I wouldn't do that... Just put all the rock in a clean trashcan with saltwater with a powerhead and heater, if you dont have those things see if they can hold the rock until you get everything setup.

Go to the lfs and buy saltwater. Just let sit in salt water until your stuff comes in. Just keep in a warm room.

Ditto buy salt water and cycle in the brute. It really is a good idea to use this technique anyway. The preferred method to cycle in the dark for weeks. Is what the LFS does. Ask to see their setup for cycling new shipments. You could get used water from a club member. They are going to throw it out anyway. Get some free bacteria.

Yes it will. A lot of people get dry rock like myself and it eventually becomes "live" rock. You just wont get the diversity of life like you would on live rock. Oh and the rock will prob smell horrendous due to all the decaying life because its been dried out.

Why don't you just put it in saltwater so there's at least some living bacteria..? It shouldn't be that hard to find a place that'll sell SW, like any LFS..or just simply buy rodi water, and like a 20 gallon mix of salt and mix it yourself. You can find aquarium salt easily.
