I have a question. I know what live rock is, and I know what dry rock is. But what is dry live rock? Is it just dry rock that used to be alive and still has some junk on it?

That is what I would call it. Rock that was once live rock is dry live rock. Dried live rock. I would stick with that for the sake of keeping that classic definition clear.

I hear and read people call rock all kinds of weird things. There are also available rock that was man-made, mined or dry rock that is seeded with bacteria. Some of these options can confuse the traditional definitions perhaps.
