I had a tank crash almost a week ago. Been damage control ever since. Long story short a cucumber decided to crawl in my return pump and shred itself, nuking the tank. I managed to get all my fish out. Im in the process of setting up my 300. I used my rock from the old tank, ammonia is super high when I tested it with no ammonia source. I have turbo start coming today. Will this help get the tank going? I need to move my fish, they are all cramped in a 32 biocube since I didnt have another option when my 125 got nuked. @Randy Holmes-Farley can you assist in this matter and maybe explain this? Is the ammonia absorbed in the rocks?

ammonia cannot bind significantly to any normal rocks we use in reef tanks.

Rock from a current reef tank will bring in bacteria that can help take up ammonia, and may have some die off, that might add a little ammonia,.

How high is ammonia? I think people sometimes exaggerate how toxic it is.
