Hi I'm still very new to this hobby!
I have a 20long FOWLR with 20 lbs of rock but the rock isn't scaped all that great. I'm wanting to build by rock scape into something more natural looking.

Is there a rock I can pick up at lowes or Home Depot to use as base rock???

If so what steps are needed before I use it in my display tank?

This is what I have right now

I would just buy more of what you already have. Looks like you found some real good rock to start out with. All I have been seeing at the LFS is crap brown rock

Yea my LFS has some very nice rock, I was very surprised as to how much coralline stayed around and what went away seems to be coming back in nicely . I guess more LR wouldn't hurt I was just trying to get out cheaper. Then again it would just be more rock for when I upgrade !!!
Thanks for the response!

If there are no fish. Buy dry rock, muh cheaper than live rock and won't take it long to become live. Just give it a good rinse before putting it in.
