I'm at the point where I need to do a reset. For multiple reasons, mainly aiptasia, I need to clean my rock thoroughly. Between cyano, aipasia and algae, cleaning them outside the aquarium is needed; in my opinion. In addition to manually scrubbing the rock. What could I do to kill things off, even it it means re-curing the rock. Would a peroxide dip kill the aipatsia without "hurting" the rock too much?

Scrubbing alone will not do it. I have heard you can use aiptasia x or boiling hot water injected directly into the nem. If your looking at a reboot as a result I am going to assume you have a plague of it and need to do mass kill off. You can give the rock a bath in muratic acid (pool supplies) which should get rid of the aiptasia and any other organic matter on the rock. I have heard boiling the rock will do it to but never done that. Also in either case of boiling or doing the acid bath be careful to do this outside and not breathe in the vapors. Read up on palytoxin if you dont know why. Serious stuff and you never know if you have it in your tank or not.

I agree with the above that if you want to do a reboot that boiling or an acid bath are the way to go. Just please take the proper precautions.

However, have you ever tried berghia nudibranches? They do a great job without having to go through the hassle of a reboot.
