Great! I was going to buy 50 pounds, but it sounds like I can get by with a little less. Thanks for your insightI concur, with today's garbage rock that's likely 30+ pounds.
That’s a fair point, I am going to try to stay around 40 at maximum. I also have sand for an inch bed. Hope it will hold.If you can find Pukani (good luck) that'll be your lightest AND most porous (efficient) rock. Then Fiji (also almost impossible to find now), then Reef Saver. The standard stuff should still work fine, though. I have a couple of these LowBoys sitting around drilled ready for stands and I wouldn't put more than 40ish lbs of rock in there. It's not very thick glass. Freaks me out that I see flex when they're filled with just water...
