Rock with Bubble Algae out of tank

There was no way I could get all of the BA off a rock completely so I removed it from the tank. If I let it dry out completely will it be safe to return to the tank and not risk more BA?

You can let it sun dry for a couple weeks then scrub it all off with hydrogen peroxide and soak in saltwater with a powerhead before putting it back in the tank.

Others will say to boil or bleach the rock....not a fan of those at all.

I had an outbreak and just manually removed all I could get to, then got a couple emerald crabs to do the rest.....emeralds will eat it as long as your not allowing extra food in the tank for them to eat easier.

No matter what you do, the BA will come back if you don’t do more to export your nitrates.

After battling bubble algae a couple times, the only thing I would do with rock that has bubble algae on it is bleach it.
