I had a tank with some live rock get infested with the jellyfish version of hydroids about a month ago, but I never see them anymore. Does that mean they are gone for good? I want to reuse the sand and rock, but I really dont want hydroids spreading. Can I use the rock, or so I have to toss it?

Hydroids come and go depending on nutrients available in the water. Do you know what kind they were? Colonial and digitate are a bit tougher I believe.

Medusa stage

I have them now. Saw em on a snail. But in the past I had a massive population from feeding NPS corals.

I didn't notice any issues except to me.

I'm severely allergic to jellyfish and those free floating medusa stage droids caused my hands to stiffen. When I get stung by jellys all yhe muscle around the sting turns to rock, I got stung on the back of the neck once and couldn't turn my head for 3 days straight cause it was so stiff and swolen.

But anyway, I think they are harmless and don't hurt anything.

They are likely gone BUT Consider it, JUST FOR NOW
