use reef-safe epoxy putty, with pure Cyanoacrylate on each side of the putty ball to adhere to the rock. Yes, you can take rock out to glue and then put it back in, but you can also just do this all inside the tank. You don't want to keep established live rock out of water for longer than necessary.

Perfect....thanks for info

I've taken live rock out and added either live or dry rock to it. I use both super glue gel and a wad if epoxy stick for added support. Dry off area you want the putty, mash it in place, peeled the two pcs apart, and add globs of super glue gel. Reform the epoxy pushing it in place as needed. Haven't seen any issues with the live rock being out of tank for 15-30minutes. If a longer bond time is needed, mist the rock with some water to not let it dry out. Can do the same in the tank. Harder to mold the putty in crevice's but doable.
