Hello, hope this is the right place.. I have a Green Rock flower and I've noticed a line going through the the center of it and it wraps all the way sound the base of it as well. This is the best photo I could manage right now as it does what it wants. It looks like a line of algae wrapping around it, but I dunno. Anyone have any insight? Thank you

I had one do the same thing about a week ago. I’m thinking Randy the emerald crab tried to steal mysis from him and got too frisky…..it now looks like it has a small chunk missing but seems to be on the mend.

Thank you for the replies! No Chaeto in my tank. It ended up sliding off if it and was a ring like thing after. No damage to the RFA. Almost like he molted. Here is another Pic I was able to get.

No need to worry. A bit of gunk can build up around the “neck” of the rock flower over time. You usually won’t see it because it is concealed by the skirt, but every few weeks you’ll likely see some buildup in a ring if you look under the anemone. These rings come off by themselves sometimes, other times I use a turkey baster under the skirt just to keep them tidy, and otherwise my emerald crab is a pro at removing them from under the RFA.
