Ive heard over the years that Tunze wave box will over time rip your tank apart. Ive never seen real proof of this. Everyone for a while was up on having a standing wave in the tank. Over time Ive seen less and less have it. The only answers I every hear, it's ripping my tank apart. Is this something that really holds water or what is the real deal with having a standing wave?

I looked into this a few years ago. If you have an off the shelf tank like an aqueon or marineland it's probably not strong enough to handle the extra pressure from the wave. You can however have a tank built with extra bracing so it's purpose built to hold up to the pressure of a constant wave.
