Hi,
I broke down a tank middle of last year and let all my rock dry out to kill anything that may have taken residence. It was my first tank and I didn't know if it was inexperience or something else that made it a difficult experience. But now I have a tank up and running successfully which is a positive sign.
I am going to be starting a new tank shortly and want to use that rock.
Do I need to let it soak for an amount of time or can I put it right into a new tank?

Also, if I move a piece of rock into my new tank from my current one is that enough to start seeding it?

Thanks!

If it was allowed to dry i would cycle it in a tote of some sort . Theres gonna be a lot of die off to get rid of.
And yes a chunk a lr from the other tank will help seed the new tank.
