Is it good for a new tank to add live rock that has coriline built up onto the rock ?

Assuming that the rock is coming from a tank that has been setup for a while it will help with the cycling of the new tank since it has a healthy population of bacteria already.

Helps not have so much ugly stage also as surface area is spoken for so you won’t get so much ugly algae

I always start my coralline growth this way. Every time I get a new tank I scrape some off the back wall of my DT and throw it in to start the process.
