I started my 68 a gallon build thread.. Very excited to get things underway finally though I don't think I'm as close as I thought due to all the customers plumbing that my husband needs to do!

I have decided to put part of my scale against the back glass I like that look very much I plan to have one of the blowers keeping the circulation going behind the wall so there should be no problem with that. My question is for anybody who has a rockscape against the glass should I fill it in with smaller rocks and really try to avoid space or is it better to keep an airspace back there?
My fear is some fish will go back there or an invert and I won't know it and I won't see them and they'll get stuck!
Any thoughts on the rockscape against the glass? I don't know if this is right but I actually thought of pouring some of that mud down behind the wall and filling it in totally so it's solid but something tells me I shouldn't be doing that..

FWIW, most try to keep rockscape away from the glass as much as they can to help eliminate dead spots and help with overall water circulation.

I have seen many rocks scapes like that in stores and online and the general consensus seems to be as long as you have circulation back there it should be OK so that's what I was intending to do have a dedicated circulator pointed directly at the back of the rocks! If I get a lot of opposition here I may change my mind I was hoping to get some people to agree with my plan LOL I'm flexible though !I could just move the whole scape forward

Chemicals.... Check!
OK, so it's not part of the build but I got to do something while my Rocks are curing

In favor of not having the rocks against the glass, you can of course go that way and in that case it's best to leave the open space between the rocks and not fill with smaller ones as that will creat a dead space even with flow directed towards the back.
