So I started a rockscape last night. I have never done cement work or rock drilling. My noob foolishness leads to my first question. I did keep my rock wet as I was drilling 3/8" holes (only split one-yay), but in my ignorance, I not only wore no mask, but I smoked a cigar while doing it. Definitely have some irritation late last night and this morning (a tickle in the throat, no pain, shortness of breath or anything).

  • So, will the disposable particulate masks at Lowe's or Home Depot be adequate for drilling rock and cutting the fiberglass driveway rods?
  • Best way to cut 3/8" fiberglass? miter box? I know it's a fibrous material. Will a miter saw tear it up? (you can tell I'm not exactly the handiest of folks).
  • I am reading about hydraulic cement and I only need a little bit (the structure needs to fit into an 8 x 10" area and be about 10-12" high). But I am seeing a lot of numbers after some of the things at Lowe's. Will this work? http://www.lowes.com/pd/Sakrete-Con..._clickID=1d5de500-db19-48a0-bfb4-a900d8d3b4ec
I am trying to get it together before I leave town on Sunday and let it cure in a tub of salt water for 4-5 days.
Thank you in advance!

I have cut fiberglass and other plastics with my miter saw by taking the blade off and putting it back on backwards.
It cuts pretty well that way if you go slow.
