Got 100lbs of Marco Rock dropped into the new 90 build this evening. Now looking for second opinions and commentary about the rock work.

I like the patch reef look overall. My only critique is that the current arrangement doesn't have many caves or areas to swim through that many fish are fond of.

I think you are off to a good start with the rock work. I agree that it would be good to add caves for the fish.

Thanks for the comments.

It's hard to see but there are 3 caves/swim throughs in the right hand pillar and 4 more in the left hand stack. None of them are really large but the plan is to keep smaller fish anyway. I actually rotated the top right rock slightly to cover more of the overflow.

Looks a little bulky to me, i would take the rocks out and chip - cut - drill to make it more "workable" . Good luck

I'd look into maybe switching the rocks, the big island to the right and the small island to the left.. This will allow you to push the bigger island more back and have the smaller island more upfront to get some of that "depth feeling"...

heres what I did I tried to get varying levels and open spaces but at the same time I like symmetry!

It looks ok and I was going to suggest egg crate under it but it looks like those pieces are pretty stable.

Make sure you have enough room to get your mag-float to all surfaces of the front and sides. Also watch the height as crabs and snailes are real escape artists.
