RODC 5500 or Vectra M1?

I have just acquired a 125 gallon and am looking at return pumps. I like the DC pumps because they seem to be much quieter. I'm torn between the Reef Octopus RODC 5500 and the Echotech Vectra M1. I like the idea of adjustable flow vs a ball valve which is harder on the pump. Anyone have experience with either of these?

I absolutely love my Vectra M1.
It is dead silent.

How will you be controlling it? I'd considered the Vectra but since it wasn't apex compatible I ended up going with the Waveline 1000I.

The Vectra pumps have their own controller.
