Good evening,

I’ve been running this RODI system for months without a single issue. Today I installed BRS’s auto shut off valve and auto flush valve and since, two of my canisters are leaking. They’ve never leaked before and all filter media is only 2 months old. Any ideas?

Probably the o rings on top of canisters. They tend to compress and leak. Could also be the 1/4” slip fitting threads. A wrap or 2 of Teflon tape should solve it.

Thanks for the reply. Not sure if the video posted properly.
They haven’t been opened since I put it together and have been running perfectly prior to installing the new valves today.
unfortunately the video did not post. photo of where its leaking from?

You have not touched the canisters to put in new filters is what I am hearing. If they are leaking from where the canister meets the head, what might be happening is more pressure is causing them to leak. Can you tighten them a little more? I mean a little not too much. If they are leaking at the press in fitting (tubes) then you can re seat the tube in the fitting.

New pic see responce below

Agree, think the valves you added is causing more back pressure causing them now to leak. Tighten with the canister wrench.

take tube out and unscrew the fitting. wrap some teflon tape on fitting

Add a few rounds of teflon tape on the elbow that's leaking. Clean the groove on the canisters where the oring seats, make sure no fiber or other debris, then lightly coat oring with food grade silicone grease.

Before, did you turn it off with a valve before the filter? If so, now the filters are pressurized when its shut off. Maybe the seal was always compromised but never had the pressure behind it to leak.

so the first part of the video looks like its leaking from the elbow. the second part looks like its leaking from the canister?
can you remove the elbow, clean and reseal with teflon? the canister, remove, clean o-ring, reseat and try tightening again?

<This. I have found that the BRS canisters all leak. Especially with a little back pressure. You need at least 3-4wraps of Teflon tape on all murlock threaded fittings. Silicon grease on all the o rings as noted above. I wonder if these o rings are a smaller diameter than the ones that came with spectrapure and captive purity systems that I have used years ago.
