Hey Reefers, I have always had a slimy residue in my RODI holding container. I done some research online this evening and what I think I have is Iron Bacteria. The water supply comes from a well and filtered through a 4 stage RODI filter. I just got back my water ICP test results this week and the test didnt show anything wrong with it, this leads me to a bacteria. There is a slight smell to the holding container. I do have city water also, maybe I will switch to that to see if it makes a difference. Wonder what effects this bacteria strain could have on the reef aquarium? Thanks everyone for your input.

I would first suspect pollen , dust , and anything the wind can carry.

Personally I bleach my rodi containers fairly regularly.

I think it is Iron Bacteria from my well casing in the ground. Because when I cleaned the rodi holding container it had a clear and brown appearance. I am going to hook my rodi filtration to my city water, I have both.
