So I got an rodi filter setup and can't figure out which way the water is supposed to flow should it fill the canister first and they get pushed through the media and out the center or fill the center and get pushed through the media and out please help its driving me crazy

Do you have any pictures of your unit? The one side of the RO housing has a single spout on it, that is your In line. Then on the other side there should be two outlets. The center outlet is your product water, and the one off to the edge is your waste water. Hope that helps :)

Well that actually helps a lot too because I wasn't sure on that either but I was actually talking about the actual canisters. I think this diagram answers my question

Gotchya, yes, it should go through the sediment filter first, then carbon blocks and then up to the ro membrane :)

But like that diagram it comes on around the filter and then pushed up threw the center.

2 more questions haha do I need a flow restrictor and also should my di canisters drain when the water is shut off

Most RO/DI units come with a flow restrictor already installed. If its not an inline one, try removing the waste water line from your RO membrane and its usually in that elbow or inside the pipe
The inline ones look like this

Or the inner pipe restrictor will look like this

These ones actually sit inside the line, you don't see it unless you remove the line from the fitting.

:) You don't need to drain your di canisters, or at least I never do and it's never given me a problem.

Okay cool good to go,, also I don't actually drain my di canisters they drain on there by themselves once the input water and shut off the left over water drains out
