I live in China so had to buy a RODI filter with Chinese instructions which made my life a pain. I realise now that I put one of the filters in the wrong way round, it's one of the last stahes, it is only held in by a rubber skirt but the casing is very tight. Even with pliers I can't get it out. Any ideas on how to remove it??

If you are talking about the Ro membrane itself and if you have access to a compressor, try pressurizing the chamber with one of the two ports on the tail end. You may have to block the other one but I'm not sure of the internal passages.

Sounds like the canister itself. First, obviously make sure you’re unscrewing it in the right direction. If the round plastic wrench isn’t doing it you might wanna try some channel lock pliers with some longer grips for leverage. In the future don’t overtighten and maybe even use some food grade silicone grease. I use it on my collection cup of my skimmer and on the rodi threads

Turn it upside down and slam it hard onto a flat piece of wood, or hold it in your hand and hit the end with a mallet until the membrane flies out.

I get so upset with stuck things I usually break them and buy a new one, but sometimes a little force is all you need. :)

Good luck, I hope you find a way.

I think it's the DI resin, it's all in Chinese so i'm not quite sure - thanks for the advice guys the mallet sounds like a good idea. I'd buy a new one but this one is new itself!
