So you didn't buy a DI cartridge prefilled from Spectrapure?
What was in the bag? Was it a large bulk refills size or individual size? Was it a sealed mylar foil bag or was it previoulsy opened and what resin was it specifically, they have many to choose from.
I choose to buy my membranes and DI directly from Spectrapure for freshness, I don't wan tanything that has been on a shelf and is who knows how old. Resin has a short shelf life even when factory vacuum sealed and kept in the refrigerator. I know when I buy from them its usually blended and packaged fresh that day as their stuff is built to order daily.
The type of resin is important too as resins like their MaxCap are not designed or intended to work by itself, it is always followed by a second DI, usually the SilicaBuster blend. The MaxCap comes in two packages too as it is a blend and needs to be packed correctly.
There are many variables with DI, resin blend, age, was it stored properly so it was out of temperature extremes and bright direct lighting, was it still damp in its original solution etc. I only buy one at a time today, I used to buy bulk resins but they went bad before I could use them up.
How are you using the TDS meter? Are you using a squeaky clean drinking water glass and drawing water directly from the RO membrane and the DI outlet or from a storage container or ATO? Do you triple rinse the TDS meter and glass with RO/DI or distilled water between each sample and after the last use then cap the meter so it stays clean for next time? Have you checked its calibration or at least tested some distilled water to see if it registers 0 or very near it? Just throwing out some ideas and suggestions here.
