Hi all.

Does anyone else have issues with replacing the carbon block filter on your RODI system? It seems like I replace that more often than the sediment filter. It always causes issues and gets blocked more often than not. I just replaced both sediment in carbon filter two weeks ago and it’s already clogged again? The pressure gauge is reading 10 PSI when I normally run about 50-60PSI. I’m not sure what’s up.

Are you using a 1 micron or 5 micron sediment filter?
If you are already at 1 micron you could try to go down to a 0.5 micron sediment filter.

I am using 1 micron at the moment. Never had an issue until I had to replace the sediment filter for the first time. I’m assuming it was a snowball effect. You mean 5 micron correct?

Nope I mean 0.5 that's 1/2 a micron.
I assume the sediment filter is before of the charcoal filter.

If your carbon block is clogging before your sediment filter, your sediment filter is too big. Get as small a micron size as reasonably possible. Carbon blocks are way too expensive to be filtering your sediment.

That is correct. I’m guessing that a .5 micron may have come with the system. Should I stick with a 1 micron carbon?

I agree with this. I’ll check and see what the stores around me have. I want to say a plumbing supply store would have something.
