Last night I fell asleep while filling up my external top off reservoir and remembered that I left it on early this afternoon while I was at work.

I am beyond grateful that I finally took the time to hook up a float valve correctly and made a commitment to always using it when making water.

I can't even imagine what kind of nightmare I'd be dealing with today if I had 16 hours of RODI flooding in my apartment, neighbor's apts below, and wife who said she's divorce me if I flooded our home again and/or got us booted from another apt for tank related flood.

I'm honestly shocked that RODI systems are sold without them and feel like the inventor of this baby deserves a Nobel Prize.

Here, here! That little $15 float valve is a real life saver. Saved my bacon more than once - actually, it's so reliable that I don't even worry about filling water anymore. I have some backup trip valves just in case, but never needed them.
