RODI Flush Valve Leaking

Hey all,

I have a BRS 75 GPD 5 Stage Premium Plus RODI system that I’m running, but recently noticed that the flush valve has a slight leak. I’ve tried tightening all of the fittings, lowering PSI, checking membranes, etc. it’s been used for less than 6 months and has produced a maximum of 100-125 Gallons (membranes aren’t even changing colors it’s so fresh).

wondering if anyone has seen this before and resolved it. Thankfully I can keep a towel on it and a bucket below while I produce water, but obviously that’s not a long term solution.

Yup and yup. Your local home improvement center should have a valve that will work to replacethe leaking one. I guess the leaking valve is repairable but it seems like a lot more work than just rpelacing it.

Mine leaks sometimes when i turn it. Im just gonna call brs and try to get a replacement. Mines only a few months old.

that is also your flow valve, that is matched to membrane gpd. so you need to get the same one

This is what I figured. If I pickup a valve for it, I presume I’ll want to make sure it’s rated for the 75GPD that my system is - correct? Or would I get something that supports X PSI of flow?

A standard valve from a home improvement store should be rated for higher pressure than what your RO is running at.

As stated in post #4, yours is a combo flush valve AND flow restrictor so seems easiest to just buy the same/right one from BRS.

You could get any valve and add a separate flow restrictor but I think you'd have to plumb it differently (split the lines) which may be desired but not as easy.

@mjszos , when you flush the system do you have water comes out also from the blue line ?

A trickle.

This is resolved now though, I sent an email to BRS support on it with some information and they ended up just shipping one out to me priority - cut the tubes and installed the new one and everything is good to go!
