I’m looking into making a saltwater mixing station, with an RODI filter hooked into my houses freshwater supply. Fortunately, there is a copper pipe already T’d off of the cold, freshwater supply, running to my backyard hose. And it’s in the perfect area for me to make the mixing station in.
In researching this I’ve seen that Sharkbite fittings are the way to go. I found one that looks like it will work, allowing me to T off of the copper pipe (see photo). I’m curious if I have to get some kind of adapter to connect the flexible RODI tube to the Sharkbite connector? ( see other picture)

That would be a 1/4 inch compression fitting that should work.

You are looking for a fitting like these link without being constructed out of metal. You can find these types of fitting going from .25 and up .5 that I know of.

This is the one I used and just put a 1/4 x1/4 shut off.

I kind of like the idea that the metal one in my pictures has a valve, so I can turn it on and off at the source. I just don’t know if I will need some kind of adapter to get the RODI input tube secured to the connector.
@Screwgunner Do you mean the Sharkbait fitting has a 1/4” compression fitting on it already, or that I’ll have to get one separately?

Unscrew the nut. Is there a little ball inside . If there is it is a compression fitting. Put the nut on your rodi line then the little ball put the two together and tighten the nut.

Ok, I get what you mean. I don’t have the fitting yet, but I’ll check that out when I get it. Thanks.
