Afternoon, I've got a 4 stage turned 6 stage(added 2 resin chambers) that I hadn't used in years. Unboxed it and ordered the 150gpd upgrade kit and booster pump set up. I haven't turned booster pump on yet, just wanted to see that the rodi it's working first. Well I'm getting the feeling I've got something wrong Doesn't look like much water is flowing through last 2 resin chambers but the finished product line is putting out product at an insane rate.
I've been trying to figure this out all morning and have researched myself silly. Did I put the shut off in wrong, I know when it's in wrong cause the pressure skyrockets. Never used a booster and not sure when to have it on? I feel like I could field strip the thing after the last few hours. I've been looking at diagrams and watching videos, I'm lost at this point!
I'm sure I'll get some flak but I need some help from some of the caring and compassionate members of the reefing community
Here's a pic, it's a hot mess but I wasn't going for perfection, just wanted to see it work!

I hate days like that man. I’m sorry. Hopefully one of us can help you out. I’m just trying to chase out the lines and make sense of what you’ve got going on since I can’t see the back, but the 3rd canister, is it fed from the RO membrane? Also, when you say you are seeing an insane amount of water from the RO output, where are you checking flow from, right out of the 2nd membrane or out of the 3rd canister filter? Are filters, membrane, and resin all new? Also, a pic of how you’ve got the DI canisters plumbed and the back of the RO unit would be helpful.

So, the incoming goes through 1 sediment and 1 carbon, then out to the pressure gauge, used a red piece, my apologies. Then to the in end of the asov. Then to first membrane. Pic of back included.

Belive it or not, I just wanted to replace this bracket and make some nice clean water. Now I'm in too deep

I also switched the asov back to an older one, thinking that might be an issue? So I'm batting a thousand. When I hooked this up a week ago, I forgot the cold and hot lines in basement are colored wrong. So I sent 160° water through the rodi, cooking the membranes and I'm sure contaminating the carbon and sediment filters with heavy metals? I ordered all new everything and here I am.

I believe BRS made a video of the top RODI mistakes that I watched last week. They mentioned the DI chambers aren't supposed to fill. The will fill as they are being used up. Hopefully that makes sense.. I could be mistaken and new to reefing. But I'd check out their youtube videos on this if no one gives a definite answer.

Just chiming in for moral support. I feel your pain. I added a Smart Buddy booster pump about a year ago. I love this thing. It's completely idiot proof. Unfortunately, it's not Auquanut proof. In true Auquanut fashion, I had to screw it up twice before I got it right. So I'm absolutely not the one to give advice.

The best advice I can give is to step back, take a break, clear your head and let some of the bigger brains chime in. Then start again. Good luck. You can figure this out.

3rd canister is fed from 2nd membrane, sorry for the bold letters. Everything's brand new.
the flow is coming out of the last resin chamber like its not even being filtered.

I think you have the waste feeds reversed coming out of the RO canisters

I agree assuming the black lines is the waste lines. I also dont think the asov is right though. Output of third carbon should go to the top of the "in" on asov and the top "out" goes to first ro membrane. The bottom side of asov should be fed from "good" ro output of second membrane and output to DI.

It looks like you’ve got the blue and black lines swapped. One way to tell is the RO water should come out of the port that protrudes further out than the other. An unrelated thought is to maybe swap the 3rd canister to filter before the RO only to avoid sending extra TDS from the carbon to your DI.
