My rodi unit has the 4 gallon tank on it. When I get water out of it and it cuts on the tds before the di chamber go up to around 60 sometimes as high as 90. The tds out of the tap is around 170. Does anyone have any idea why it's doing this. All of the filters and membrane were changed about 2 months ago. The pressure coming into the unit is low only around 30psi. I know that's low could that be it? I go thru a lot of di resign and constantly fighting with hair algae.

Low psi is definitely an issue, and that is why you are going thru so much DI resin. And I'm pretty sure your tds issues are from that as well. Do you own the home where you live? You may need to lok into boosting the pressure. If not, you can buy a booster pump.

Also make sure you are restricting your waste water output somehow. I bought a buster pump when I didn't need one because I didn't realize I needed to do this.

I was only getting about 20psi and when I restricted it properly I could get it as high as I wanted it.

When I ordered the new membrane it came with a flush kit restrictor valve. I thought the low pressure was issue. We own out home but are going to be selling in the near future. Are there any houses where the pressure is high enough for a rodi or does everyone run a booster pump? I wanted to make sure the pressure was the problem before I bought a booster pump and the pressure switch

No booster pump here. I run a Spectrapure 60 gpd RO/DI, and the water pressure from the house (Nashville) is just fine by itself. The pressure guage usually shows around 75-80 psi. We're also fortunate to have water with fairly good TDS (I typically get a 110-115 reading at the tap).

I run a 60gpd spectrapure as well. I love it, I normally keep the pressure at about 65psi and it makes water pretty quick. I too am lucky with my water out of the tap (Johns Creek/Alpharetta Ga) between 50 and 55 TDS out of the tap.

Where Do you have them hooked up? I have mine under the kitchen sink. Is there somewhere that will have more psi?

I have mine hooked up in the guest bathroom. But that shouldn't make a difference, the pressure coming into your house is the pressure coming into your house.

I got the booster pump installed today. It is pretty loud but necessary. Now the pressure gauge on my Ro unit bounces around like crazy. Does anyone who runs a booster pump have the same problem?

I have ro without di and my tap is 240 tds with 30 psi. I run my ro at that 30 psi and only get 9 tds on the output.

Wow, I don't know what kind of booster pump your running but I've got an Aquatec cdp 6800 and its silent as long as I have it resting on a towel. Maybe try that and it will be more quiet for you.

My booster pump Runs quiet besides a small vibration. And I run my pressure around 90psi. Higher pressure is better. 60psi is like minimum recommended for daily GPD stated. Your unt will run more efficiently with a pressure 85-95psi

Really? I thought running as high as 86-90 psi might blow one of the John guess fittings on my RO. If I set my pressure higher would I make more then 2.5g an hour of water and still at 0 TDS?

Well, I tried running my RO at 85-90psi after I did my water change today...it worked for about 5 minutes and then blew one of the fittings on my RO and flooded the guest bathroom...glad I went to check on it. Girlfriend is ******.
