I wanted to share my setup with people who live in limited spaces how easy it is to setup and make your own RODI water for those reef tanks.

I live in a townhome so space is limited. I have 5 tanks so making my own water is a huge cost saver.
170 gallon RedSea Max S 650
32 gallon BioCube
5 gallon nano
55 gallon fresh water
2 gallon jellyfish tank

I purchased and installed a BRS 5 Stage RODI w/upgrade to produce up to 200 gallons per day. I use 2 32 gallon Brute’s on Dollie’s so I can roll them around easily. I installed float valves on each of them to eliminate the accidental overflow. It takes me about 3 hours to fill both barrels up to the 30 gallon lines.

I installed the RODI unit under our downstairs half bath under the sink and out of site. When I need to make water I just roll my Brute a few feet away and attach the 10’ line with a ball valve to it and turn it on. Blue line on Brute is RODI, white line is salt. Wastewater is plumbed into the pipe under the sink.

I transfer my water to my tanks using a Sicce Ultra Zero submersible pump with 10’ of 1/2 hose connected to the Python J hook with a cutoff valve to control the water flow.

I also refill my ATO 5 gallon jugs that I place under the tanks weekly for fresh top off water.

Let me know what you think.

This looks very similar to how I installed mine, except mine is using 5 gallon buckets instead haha
