I have my BRS RODI unit and it is working great putting out 0 TDS on my well water. My only question is in the final chamber the DI section I believe it doesnt fill the chamber fully before letting out water? It trickles in and looks like out. I am wondering if something is not right here? Looks like my resin is changing color just in that small spot and no where else.

When I cover the outlet it then fills the chamber and when I release it lets it all out. Any thoughts?

It really doesn’t matter if there is an air pocket, but if you’re ocd like me just loosen the canister while it’s running until it’s completely full and tighten it back up.

The problem is when it fills up and I let go it just drains and then goes back to this trickle. My issue is it seems like the resin is wearing out in that one area where the water hits and no where else.

Do you have a valve on the output line? It sounds like you’re just using your finger to close it off. If it’s just an open line maybe some is siphoning out, although it shouldn’t be able to unless there is a leak somewhere. As far as color change on the resin, it always changes at the bottom and works its way up over time.…that has been my experience over the years.

Yes mine is just an open line no valve. Ok got it. So does your chamber look empty as well? When I close the out put it’s fills the chamber full then when I release the top it shoots out till empty and trickling again.

if the resin normally ages like that I’m fine with it just want to make sure it’s not only touching that area and not being efficient thanks @A_Blind_Reefer

Don't worry about the last chamber. It's fine. As for the color change at the bottom that is how it should be working.

Water is forced from the bottom up so if your seeing color change in another direction something is wrong.

Good to know. It looks like the stream is coming from the top down. not sure if that is overflow or something. I am getting 0 TDS so not sure if I should care or not haha.

The canisters/lids are designed so flow enters the lid and drops into the canister and then is forced up through the DI cartridge to the output.

Sediment/carbon filters are designed for a different flow than what you see in the DI cartridges.
