So i cant figure out why my rodi unit is not working. I have had it for years and had no problems with it. I replaced all my filters and membrane just maybe 3 months ago. Right now my water makes it to the membrane but only comes out the waste water side i cant get any water to come out to go to the DI. Do you think the membrane went bad??? that's the only thing i can think of. I took off all the parts and blew through them and air can get through. The only thing i can possibly see being bad is the membrane? Its suppose to be for 75 gpd. Right now im getting 0 gpd its not even making it to the DI canister.

At this current moment im ready to dump this tank it makes me so mad between the lights going bad and now this. money money money :moneygrubber::frusty::frusty::frusty:

but ill get over it.

P.S. - while i was going through the faces i found this :preggers: "preggers" kinda weird haahaha

LOL.

It might be good to step away from it and come back in a few hours or later tomorrow for a clear view on things....but here's what I suspect: (hopefully this makes sense)

The membrane is a little tricky to insert, as it can be put in backward as well as put in partially without necessarily knowing it. I would remove the RO membrane, check that the two small orings on the tip are facing OUT and the large gasket on the outside of the membrane is closer to the opening. When you insert the membrane, it may require considerable force to fully seat. Make sure it's really seated into the back of the RO housing before you put the cap back on.

Hope this helps!

If i had it in and its been working for months do you think i put it in wrong. I did realize the last time i inserted it that i gave it a better push.

Heres the funny thing tho is that it has been running for months producing water. Now i cant confirm it was 75 gpd or a little less but it was working. If i took pictures of it and posted would that help?? I know when i unscrew the membrane where the screw side is where the water comes in this is where the sealant is at its also the side that doesn't have any rubber washers.

Does that help at all?

I had this membrane in there for awhile and it was working. I dont feel it was making 75 gpd but it still was making a good amount of water.

Than it just stopped working. but now that i think about it it never really made 75 gpd. Iam gonna call the reef store i bought it from tomorrow hopefully i can get it replaced.

But yes the way the link says thats how i have been putting it in. And i turn on the water i can see it fill up the canister than it goes to the membrane than it starts pouring out water to the drain the bad water and nothing comes out the good side to go the DI.

I would say it has to be the membrane but im no RODI expert my buddy gave me this a long time ago and its been working great

If this happened when you changed filters I would suspect you put the DI cartridge in upside down. Do you have a flush valve? Is it open? What pressure shows on your gauge?

I replaced the filters about 3-4 months ago. The pressure is around 60- 70 psi. I had an auto shut off on there but I jist removed it nc I thought that was the problem but the water is not getting out of the mwmbrane canister

Well after working with Russ over the phone we found out the the flow restrictor was put on the wrong section. The local reef store put the restrictor on where the water goes to the DI rather than to the waste water :squigglemouth: So we removed the restrictor and put it on the right section and still nothing worked. Looks like its a bad membrane. Russ was able to sell me a new membrane as well as the auto shut off valve. Should be getting these parts in the mail tuesday!!

Thanks again Russ and Buckeye Field Supply for taking my call on a Sunday!!! I really appreciate it! Good people over at Buckeye Field Supply!!! Will def be working with them again!!

thakns again for all your help the only thing i need now is someone to help me fund 2 led fixtures so i can get rid of these ****** lights

I know it's not the same as cash, but I can give you this link to help with the lights. :) The best+cheapest way I know to build a good LED fixture if DIY is an option.
