RODI mounting

I keep seeing people mounting there RODI units. Do they have to be mounted, or can you just sit it on a level surface while you use it?

They are working off of water pressure so you can set them however you want. The last filter (DI) probably is best to be level so that it doesn't drain out once you turn the water off but as long as you don't let all the water drain out it will be ok. You don't want the DI resin to dry out. I've had mine setting on the floor next to the washing machine for the last 20+ years.

Mine sits on the floor as well. I keep it inside a utility shower stall in my basement. The ultimate protection against flooding due to forgetfulness.
