I've mounted my BRS RODI system in our basement utility room and put a "T" into our water line with a shutoff attached to it. To connect the RODI, I've attached the sink adapter that came with the system to a 3/4" male threaded PVC adapter using plumbers tape to seal the threads.

It works well with no drips/leaks but I'm wondering if this is the best way to set it up permanently. Obviously any failure of that fitting or its connection to the 1/4" RODI line could be pretty catastrophic. I've avoided running it when I'm not nearby to keep tabs on it, which is sort of inconvenient.

Is there any other/better fitting that I should be using to connect the RODI source water line to our house water? Many thanks for thoughts/suggestions.

You can find the press-lock adapters for 3/4" PVC in most hardware stores. Sometimes you need to buy a few adapters to get down to it, but it is doable. I wouldn't be too worried about the setup you have there. So long as you didn't torque it too high, there isn't any reason for it to suddenly burst. The pressure in your house should be fairly low and these things are rated for quite a bit of pressure.
