RODI Plumbing - Advice/Help/suggestion

So I'm in the process of installing a RO/DI unit at work for our office tank. I'm not the most proficient in plumbing so I thought I seek some help from the community. We currently have a water dispenser already tapped in under the sink, so I would be teeing off the existing 1/4" polyethylene tubing. I dug out a few tees and valves. I was wondering what would be the best way to tee off the line. Do I need any check valves?

Option 1 - connect a tee, then a ball valve after that

Option 2 - use this 3 way valve I had.

Any advantages, disadvantages or does it not matter at all? Just trying to make sure I'm doing this right.

I would go with option 1. That way water flow won't be cut off from the drinking water. With option 2 you would have to choose between drinking water or RODI

choose the option that lets you run one and shut off water from the other. you don’t want running through both at the same time as that could compromise the psi.

is more psi better for the RO/DI unit? I'm leaning towards that route since the water dispenser has one of those small pressurized tanks and that could dispense water for anyone that needs it while the RO/DI is being used.

I'm not sure either option would be the best. For drinking water you will want just RO water, so I would T off from the RO membrane and run that to the drinking water. I would put a ball valve also so you can shut it off. Then run the RODI line out to your tank/holding tank.

you want the rodi psi 50-70.

Hey guys thanks for your input. The "water dispenser" has its own RO filter system (pics attached). There is a pressurized water container that feeds the ice machine inside the fridge.

The "water source" is basically water from under the sink, that the water dispenser installer tapped into the sink pipe with the saddle valve type (the ones where it punches a hole in your existing cold water pipe).

I've attached additional pictures of the RO water dispenser and rough hand sketches of the plumbing (excuse my artistic skills). Please let me know if any check valve are needed and your advice is greatly appreciated!
