This might be a noob question but hey, ima noob :xd:.. I get rodi water for free from my lfs, and the last time i went there i got two 5 gallon buckets instead of my usual 1. Now i only have 1 pump to mix water, so the bucket i was mixing i already used for a water change, but now i have the other bucket that has been sitting (with a lid on it) for at least 5 or 6 days.. my question is: is it okay to mix salt into that water and use it for a water change even though it has been sitting stagnant? ive heard nitrates accumulate in stagnant water but i do not understand where these nitrates would come from... and ive also heard the water loses oxygen but can i just aerate the water and it will be okay? thanks in advance
