I have a 5 stage RODI that I have been using for a few years now. I had it installed under my kitchen sink until just recently. I now have it in my garage. When it was under the sink I never noticed the water level in the DI (last stage). I noticed the other day that the water is only an inch or so deep in it. Is that normal? I wasn't sure if it should stay full like all the other stages or not. I just want to be sure everything is ok. Thanks for the time and help. Rick

Thats normal. The level in the DI canister changes with the elevation of the discharge line. If the RO/DI is mounted low like under a sink and the discharge is at counter height like a faucet it will stay more full. If the RO/DI is mounted on a wall over the laundry sink such as mine is and the discharge is lower down say at bucket level the it will run more empty.
Its no big deal and it does not have to stay full as long as it has some moisture in it so the resin does not dry out. The water actually travels up through the center of the cartridge, bottom to top so not much in the exterior canister or sump is normal.

OK man, thanks for the reply. As I said I just hadn't noticed it before. The unit is mounted on a wall about 4 1/2 feet high and the container it drains into sits on the floor. I was just worried that maybe the DI wasn't working correctly and that the water might not be safe to use. Thanks again. Rick
