Rodi rejection water uses

I’m sure this has been beaten to death, but my forum search skills couldn’t find the answer. What are people’s thoughts on using RODI rejection water for filling a TROPICAL fish tank?

Right now, I use my RODI’s rejection water to water house plants and to fill my humidifiers, anything we come up with that does not involve human consumption. We are going to put a tropical fish tank in my kid’s room, and I’m thinking “why not use that?” My thoughts are it’s already been through the sediment and carbon block, that’s pretty well polished, better than tap water before adding fixing chemicals anyway. I haven’t measured the tds or done any real testing on it, but thought I’d throw the idea to the brain trust here.

Yep. I use it in my planted freshwater tank along with some of our well water. Plants thrive and the fish live, long, long lives.

The water will be pretty hard, since it has all the minerals that were removed from the pure water stream. As long as the fish are hardy it should be fine. I divert my waste water to my koi pond. I wouldn’t use it for a high end planted discus aquarium or specialty fish that require soft water but most freshwater fish are decently hardy and can adapt to a wide range of water hardness.
