So I have a 5 stage RODI unit with 3 prefilters, RO membrane, and then the DI resin.

PSI has dropped from 70 to 60 so I'm guessing it is now time to change the prefilters.

Just wondering what is the best setup and micron size for the prefilter?

Would a sediment filter and 2 carbon blocks be better or 2 sediment filter and 1 carbon block?

Btw my tap water is pretty good at only 13tds.

I run 2ea 1 micron pre and 1 carbon. I have rain water so like you very low TDS. I dont have any chlorine in my water so the carbon is for any weird stuff that might fall from the sky or be in the shingles on my roof. I doubt it is even needed because I run a house filter system that has a .5 micron carbon. If you have chloramines you could get one of those carbon blocks to be safe.

That's what I run and have great flow and TDS

I ended up getting 2 1micron sediment and 1 1micron carbon block. Saw on the BRS rodi systems that they were all using that.

You are still good with 60psi, imo. Not a bad idea to have a set of prefilters on hand though.

Prefilter arrangement will depend on your source water. Well vs city, heavy sediment vs little sediment, chlorine vs cloramines, ect. There really is no one size fits all setup. It depends on what you are trying to remove from the source water.

I've read that once pressure drops 10% then its time for a change. Do you think I would need to change? Last time I replaced it was last summer. If not I could always keep this as a backup.
